Warm Croissant, Anyone?
My wonderful in-house pastry chef (aka Dave) whipped these up, based on a sketchy recipe I found online....lesson learned in this exercise: read a recipe the whole way through before starting, to ensure it makes freaking sense!
These turned out remarkably well in the end...although I'm not sure my ass thanks me!

Exciting Cricket Action
The forecast was for scattered thunderstorms today, so the only cameras that made it to Cup Match were our Blackberries...
...as a Canadian, I find a sport where a match can go on for two days and still end in a draw to be a bit of a farce! The fact that they have to stop games for meal breaks also makes me chuckle! On top of that, even when the game is on, there's a lot of down time, as captured in this shot:
Bonus shot:
I found this 'mobile ATM' hilarious - not too sure where it might make other appearances! (That puddle was inside the front gate...and that area was dry when we arrived....there was a downpour at lunch...good thing I left the camera at home!)
I discovered that Dave's Blackberry has 5X zoom (used it for the first shot), while mine has a measly 2X zoom...however, judging from the quality of these shots, mine must have more megapixels!

Wastin' Away
What better way to kick off the 4-day weekend than to break-in the margarita machine? Happy Cup Match! (If you're not in Bermuda - Thursday is Emancipation Day and Friday is Somers Day and, I believe, the holidays are meant to celebrate the abolition of slavery....however, in modern times, the whole island shuts down for a big East vs. West cricket match (Cup Match)).

Update
Attention, Attention, ATTENTION! The following is an update on the pineapple experiment....
.....

....................
....no fruit yet. According to the website I was using, there may be one pineapple 24 months from now. Our lease expires 18 months from now....and, in my eye, the thing isn't looking so hot already. So, probably don't hold your breath.
Okay, resume what you were doing.

Disparity
It's Thursday. It's quarter end. I'm an accountant. My husband is an accountant. I spent 11+ hours at my desk today. My husband spent 1 hour at his. The rest of his time was spent (a) on the couch watching the British Open, b) playing a round of his own golf and (c) relaxing in the yard with a beer. What is wrong with this picture?!

Take Two
I had my much neglected kit lens on my camera body, so I thought I'd take a few more shots of this bush. I tend to use my 24-70 f/2.8 as my go to lens and the kit lens rarely sees the light of day. However, the kit lens is much, much lighter than the 2.8...and that alone is sometimes a welcome change. I had to shoot at 18mm to get the biggest aperture and I didn't really like any of the resulting shots, so this one is the best of the worst.
