After the storm

Another east coast US storm blew through yesterday but the skies cleared this afternoon. So I took a break from tax prep hell and we took the monsters out for a little jaunt. Although you can't actually see the ocean from our house, it's just at the end of our street. There's a lot of coral to start but if you keep walking a bit, you come to a small secluded beach.

These guys were all over the place, hiding in coral "caves". I pulled these three out to take their mugshot...but no worries, I put them back into their shelters after their photoshoot.

After a storm, it's pretty common to see loads of Portuguese Man 'O War washed up....don't get too close, they've got a nasty sting!

Deets: f/4.5, 1/2500, 66mm, ISO400

Lola & Roxy weren't the only canines at the beach - this guy was playing fetch with his owner's flip flop.

Deets: f/6.3, 1/2500, 70mm, ISO400

A little climbing and sand walking, combined with salty air, is enough to wear these two monsters out!
